How A Celebrity Esthetician Got Her Skin Ready For Her Own Wedding

For decades, I’ve guided women through the wedding skin process and Bridal Bootcamps, but when it came to my own wedding, I started freaking out and thought of every possible thing I could do to my skin to evaporate every line, freckle and issue that was showing due to my years of riding in my Jeep with the top down to the Jersey Shore.

After a few glasses of wine, and many deep breaths, I finally remembered that I actually do know how to prepare my skin. I decided to take my own advice! With practically every single modality at my fingertips and easy access to every product on the market, I devised a three-month treatment plan to detox and rejuvenate my skin, as I’ve been doing for my clients for the last 20 years. It was easy to use the products I already sell to my clients since I have years of great results and experience using them. When used correctly and religiously, you will see results especially when you follow the wholistic body plan.

I got this! Oh yeah!!

I’m in my 50’s, so this adds a whole other layer of natural aging to overcome and/or come to terms with before the big day.

I’ve always leaned more towards the natural and wholistic side of skin care and I didn’t want to do anything drastic that would make me not look like myself. My future husband would not be thrilled if I was so frozen that he couldn’t see the incredible joy on my face while walking down the aisle. Crow’s feet are normal when smiling, and nothing I wanted to really get rid of, unless I wasn’t smiling!

Just like with my clients, I asked myself:

“What is my ultimate goal?

To have glowing, smooth skin with no major wrinkles. Lessen inflammation in my body so I feel less bloated.

What exact changes do I want to see?

  1. Decrease the lines between my eyebrows also known as the, “11s”.
  2. More glowing skin
  3. More hydrated skin
  4. Smoother skin texture
  5. Skin that will not look crepey under the makeup after hours of humidity, stress, dancing, smiling and photographs.
  6. Smoother neck with fewer lines
  7. Firmer and hydrated body skin

To address these issues, I devised a daily am/pm routine along with treatments I would do weekly, monthly, frequently and anything else I could throw in there. Basically, the kitchen sink treatment! Drinking less wine was on the list for sure. That was an epic fail but I didn’t fee guilty drinking  Scout & Cellar wine because they’re organic and no extra, added sugar. I also did away with a big pillow and used the pillow that I use and sell to my clients when doing their lash extensions. That particular pillow is great for helping to minimize necklines and minimizing my neck hump from being bent over the last 20 years as an esthetician. If you’re looking down a lot at your computer or phone, this pillow is a must. Cutting sugar and limiting any processed foods is paramount in obtaining great skin. There are also a few Jedi mind tricks I use with clients and decided to use then on myself. Some might sound cheesy, but I didn’t care. Oh and by the way, no cheese or dairy! Gotta cut that inflammation and prevent pimples.

Do you know what's really in your wine?

Day After the Wedding

We actually got up early, went to mass, had a totally decadent brunch and went to the pool with family and friends. Thankfully, we were in Florida and sunglasses hid a multitude of sins!

I did made some permanent changes after the wedding. I changed things that either made a big difference in my skin or I just loved the way it felt. I continued using the Luxe Beauty Buster Cleansing Mitt. It was convenient and very thorough at cleansing my skin. It has a very sensual feel to it that made me feel like I’m loving my skin as I’m wiping it.  I’m obsessed with it. I also use the Olura products for special occasions when I want my foundation to look amazing or if I’m feeling old and crusty! Their machine is always on my nightstand next to my facial cups, gua-sha and Bella Sacred Oil. I’ve kept up with my Xo8 and Game of Thrones masks which have been a part of my skin routine for many years. Lashes are non-negotiable in my beauty routine! For my body, I do a wrap 1-3 times a month and use the Beauty Buster Sacred Oil, 2 times a week at the least.
